A visitor on a white bench between a large pink and orange kitchen painting and a red, ochre and blue weaving

3 October 2026 to 28 March 2027, Gallery 2

Painting and weaving at full volume, from kitchens at four in the afternoon to walls of red wool.

Three works that refuse to be quiet. Pablo Arrieta’s paintings and Lucía Ferrer’s weaving share a room, and a lot of colour: hot pinks, orange the shade of a warning sign, and a red so deep it looks wet.

Arrieta paints the same few moments over and over: a kitchen at four in the afternoon, the light on a balcony in Copenhagen just before it goes blue. He repeats them until the colours stop looking like the real thing and start looking like how it felt.

Ferrer’s The Long Thread runs the length of one wall. She wove the first metre alone, and the rest with visitors in Sevilla, Madrid and Copenhagen, each adding a row. From the door it reads as one huge red shape; up close you can see the seasons change in the colour of the wool.

Benches face each work, so you can sit as long as they ask. Most visitors stay longer than they planned.
