A visitor in black leans in to listen to a giant blue horn mounted on an orange wall in a white gallery

2026, Sound installation, lacquered fibreglass horn

A giant blue horn plays the sound of one street in Nørrebro, recorded live and played back a second later.

Elliot Marsh placed microphones along a single street in Nørrebro and sends the sound to the gallery in real time, through a giant blue horn in the middle of the room. Lean in and you hear the street a second after it happens.

Bikes, a café opening, someone shouting across the road, the bins on a Tuesday morning. Nothing is edited and nothing is chosen. When the street is quiet, so is the gallery.

The horn was made in a boat yard from lacquered fibreglass, in the same blue as the street’s bus stops. It is big enough to stand inside, and some visitors do.

It is the only work in the collection that is happening somewhere else at the same time. The street knows: a small plaque by the microphones explains where the sound goes.
