Coming up

8 May to 31 October 2027, Gallery 3

Performances about waiting, talking and being looked at, live on weekends and on film all week.

Chiara Montanari’s performances are about waiting, talking and being looked at. For six months, she and a small group of performers take over Gallery 3 every weekend, and her films play there the rest of the week.

In Waiting Room for One, a performer sits alone in a room with one chair and one door, and waits six hours to be called. Nobody ever calls. Visitors watch through a small window, and some stay far longer than they meant to.

Small Talk is two screens on facing walls. On each, a stranger talks to the other about the weather, and nothing else, for fourteen minutes. You stand in the middle of the conversation.

Performance times are on the events page. The live work is free with your ticket, but places are limited, so book ahead for weekends.
