Talk
21 January 2027, 18:30 to 20:00
Chiara Montanari in conversation about performances that last for hours, and what it means to collect them.
Chiara Montanari talks with Elena Ruiz about waiting rooms, weather and how a performance becomes part of a museum collection. Her works last for hours and are never quite the same twice, so what exactly does a museum own when it buys one?
She will talk about Waiting Room for One, which the museum performs twice a year with a different performer each time, and about Small Talk, cast from people who answered an advert for anyone bad at small talk.
The conversation is in English and lasts an hour, followed by questions. The galleries stay open until 20:00 for ticket holders, so you can see both works before or after.
